Therapy for complex trauma, reproductive mental health, pregnancy and postpartum rooted in somatic wisdom and parts work.

Welcome to Spanda Mind Body Therapy

Spanda is a Sanskrit word that can be translated as “the subtle pulse of life”. It reflects the heart of my work—honoring the natural rhythms of contraction and expansion as we heal, grow, and return to the wisdom within.

Life feels heavier than you imagined—and you’re ready to feel like yourself again.

You’re seeking support because:

  • Becoming a parent—or trying to—has brought up more than you expected, including grief, fear, or identity shifts.

  • You feel disconnected from yourself or your body, past trauma, pregnancy, postpartum, or fertility challenges have activated old wounds and unfamiliar emotions.

  • Anxiety, sadness, or overwhelm have taken over, leaving you exhausted, on edge, or unsure how to feel like yourself again.

  • You’re stuck in survival mode, overthinking, people-pleasing, or doubting your instincts as you try to navigate this season.

  • You long for steadiness and self-trust, wanting to feel grounded, supported, and more at home in your body

meet Lindsey Derus, MA, LPC, C-iAYT

Hi! I’m Lindsey.

Becoming a parent can crack you open in the most profound ways. Shifting roles, identities, and priorities can bring unexpected overwhelm, allowing old wounds to resurface. I support new parents in navigating the mental and physical demands of this new season of life.

As an LPC and yoga therapist, I take a holistic, integrative, approach that guides clients towards a deeper level of self-awareness, inner knowing, and self-trust. When you're connected to Self, a quiet confidence emerges, allowing you to navigate life with greater ease. My goal is to help you feel more confident, connected, and supported, so you can parent from a place of steadiness rather than survival. When we tend to our own wounds, we not only support our own healing, but also interrupt the cycle of intergenerational pain, fostering a more secure and nurturing foundation for the generations that follow

You can develop:

  • Deeper connection to your inner world

  • An embodied sense of Self

  • Increased nervous system regulation and resilience

  • Renewed trust in yourself, your body, and your healing process

  • Greater presence, authenticity, and confidence in your relationships and in your daily life
